Old friends of mine and 19seventynine will be performing live in St. Louis, Friday January 27th at Vintage Vinyl in the Delmar Loop. The performance will include tracks from their 8th and latest project Satellite, found below. Its free, show starts at 7pm for all ages, and free Schlafly Beer will be available for the 21+ crowd. I'M BAAAAAAAAAACK!!

I'm back! Omg I'm really really back. Its been soooo long since I've been on here posting anything. Life and adulthood happened, and unfortunately 19seventynine got pushed to the side. But I am back to bring you the latest in Hip-Hop. 2016 was a great year for music in general, but A LOT of great Hip-Hop was released last year; Childish Gambino, Anderson.Paak, Kendrick Lamar, Kanye West, Chance The Rapper, Smoke DZA, Mikey Rocks, Mickey Factz, Isaiah Rashad, NxWorries, J. Cole, Kid Cudi and my favorite Curren$y 12 times and many many more. Plus so many women rappers showed out in 2016; Kamaiyah, TT the Artist, Dreezy, Junglepussy and Audra the Rapper to name a few. To me the dynamics of Hip-Hop are changing, and I am here for it.

CANFIELD. is a documentary by Steve N. Clair (@Dr_Strangelove3), filmed days after the shooting and the beginning of the police brutality against protesters. Many people only saw what the media wanted us to see. With CANFIELD., viewers see the uncensored reality of the events in Ferguson, Missouri. 

Ferguson.

I haven't been on 19seventynine. in a while, almost 2 years. I've been busy being an adult. But I have a good reason to come back now, Ferguson. Ferguson is one of the many 91 municipalities of the St. Louis area. On August 9th, an unarmed 18 year old Michael Brown was executed by Ferguson Police Officer Darren Wilson in broad daylight. The news immediately hit social media website Twitter and buzzed around for hours until it caught attention of the media. This story affected the whole world and brought attention to those who were in denial of this corrupt justice system. It hurts because this happened in my beloved hometown of St. Louis, Mo. For days I tried to make sense of everything that happened but failed to do so. I have 2 younger male cousins who live in Ferguson, age 14 and 15. The thought that it could have been them is disturbing. What do we tell our young men in this world of injustice? Surrender? Pull your pants up that way so the police won't harass you? No. Something has to be done about these unlawful acts. The young men in St. Louis no longer trust and at this point vaguely respect the police. Is this relationship fixable? Or is this the next generation of killer cops?
